“There’s a time and a season for everything, and I highly doubt this conventional wisdom will last another 20 years. Land grabs don’t last forever. The incumbents now are increasingly the Disruptors, who, if anything, are overly focused on disruption. Disruption seems like the “one step back” part of the “three steps forward, one step back” form of societal progress. Ultimately, we find new models and we move onto scale, expansion, and efficiency, as any early ’90s non-tech veteran would attest.

Additionally, I don’t see younger Millennials caring a lick about disruption. What they care about is feeling like their work has value and meaning, and that they as individuals have value and meaning. And to them, after the economic chaos they’ve witnessed, a stable job market and a steady paycheck doesn’t sound so bad.”
